Elizabeth Nix is a dedicated Secondary Clinician at Momenta Recovery, where she facilitates group sessions and provides crucial support to the clinical team. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Elizabeth brings both professional expertise and personal insight to her work in addiction recovery.
With 10 years in personal recovery, Elizabeth specializes in working with teenagers and adult women, employing evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her professional philosophy centers on empowering clients to develop self-compassion, curiosity about their behaviors, and the ability to respond rather than react to life’s challenges.
Elizabeth’s personal connection to recovery fuels her passionate belief that transformation is possible for everyone. “There is no stronger woman than one who has faced the darkest parts of herself, learned acceptance, and emerged thriving in a new way of living,”she shares. She finds profound meaning in witnessing clients discover hope and new possibilities beyond chaos and distress.
Colleagues describe Elizabeth as authentic, adaptable, and team-oriented. She brings a strengths-based approach to her practice and maintains unwavering hope for clients, even when they cannot hold it for themselves. Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys outdoor activities in all seasons with her two beloved dogs, as well as skiing, rafting, swimming, reading, and watching movies.
Elizabeth’s message to those considering treatment reflects her compassionate approach: “Never give up. The peace you yearn for is on the other side of the pain you don’t want to feel, and we will support you through it.”
